25 February 2011 -- Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Spotify will unveil new digital music services this summer in the hope of reversing the long-lasting decline in music sales, the Financial Times reported.
Apple's strategy is based on the use of remote storage, or the cloud, which would allow users of its iTunes store to keep their collections on the cloud and have access to them from any device produced by the company.

Google has also unveiled plans to launch a music download store as early as this March, but it has not yet signed all contracts with the labels. People familiar with the matter said that Google was hoping to link the new store to a digital storage service that would also enable users to keep copies of their tracks online.

Meanwhile, Europe's Spotify is also getting closer to the launch of its subscription service in the US.
