NSW: Man charged following kids being kissed at McDonald's

SYDNEY, Dec 16 AAP - A man has been charged following a string of indecent assaults
on young children at McDonald's restaurants across NSW, police say.

The 48-year-old man was returning a hire car to Sydney's International Airport on Tuesday
when officers from Strike Force Brookview, who had been tipped off by a member of the
public, arrested him.

Police say he was due to leave on an international flight on Tuesday night.

Police launched a manhunt after two boys reported being touched and kissed at separate
McDonald's restaurants in suburban Sydney within hours of each other on Saturday night,
while a girl was kissed at a McDonald's in Cowra, in NSW's central west on Tuesday morning.

A man fitting the description of the offender in the Cowra incident was spotted on
Monday at a fast food restaurant in Yass, where police believe he was intending to carry
out another assault.

He fled the scene before police arrived.

The man arrested on Tuesday at Sydney Airport has been charged with three counts of
aggravated indecent assault, and one count each of threatening injury with intent, detaining
for advantage, and having custody of a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.
