NSW: Severe storms cause evacuations, flooding, power failures
A severe storm swept up the New South Wales coast overnight causing evacuations, floodingand power failures in Sydney and along the South Coast.
State Emergency Service spokesman PETER O'NEILL says about 35 people were evacuatedwhen caravan parks were flooded at Gerringong and Kiama on the south coast.
He says sheet flooding of the area forced evacuations to the local leagues club.
